Marketing should make sense
A website, ads, social posts, a CRM, and an agency can all be useful. But when the pieces are disconnected, it is hard to know what deserves your time, what deserves your budget, and what needs to change.
Marketing Schoolhouse is being built to turn those moving parts into one practical system you can understand, use, and improve.
You are doing a little of everything without a clear order of operations.
Reports show clicks and impressions, but not what you should do next.
Attention is expensive when calls, forms, estimates, and next steps are not connected.
One discipline. Two paths.
Both paths start with the same marketing foundation. The difference is where you put it to work.
For local and home-service owners who want to attract the right customers, understand their numbers, and make better decisions about what to do themselves, delegate, hire for, or outsource.
Show me the owner pathFor freelancers and early agency owners who already have some marketing or client experience and want stronger offers, delivery, reporting, retention, and operating systems.
Show me the agency pathThe owner-first founding experience
The first experience is being designed around useful work for an operating business—not simply finishing a set of videos.
Define who you need to reach, what they need, and why your next offer deserves attention.
Working artifactChoose what to focus on now, what to test later, and what to stop treating as urgent.
Working artifactReview the website, search presence, reputation, and local signals that help customers find and trust you.
Working artifactConnect the audience, offer, message, channel, landing experience, budget, and measurement before spending.
Working artifactMap what should happen after a call or form so opportunities do not disappear between tools and people.
Working artifactTrack a focused set of numbers that helps you decide what to keep, change, or investigate.
Working artifactTurn the work into a realistic sequence of priorities, owners, tests, and next steps.

Learn by doing
Marketing Schoolhouse is designed around an implementation loop. Each meaningful lesson should move real work forward.
Understand the principle, see how it works, and learn what good judgment looks like.
Apply the lesson to your business, a controlled simulation, or a clearly labeled case.
Share the work, assumptions, and questions that matter—not a quiz score alone.
Review what is clear, what is missing, and what deserves another look within the published format.
Revise the work, test when appropriate, and explain what changed and why.
What “practical” means
Instead of asking whether you watched a lesson, Marketing Schoolhouse is being designed to ask what you can build with it.
Choose one service and one customer. Define the offer, first acquisition channel, conversion path, lead-response process, test budget, and numbers that guide the next decision.
Example feedbackThe channel may be reasonable, but the plan does not yet define what counts as a qualified lead or who owns the first response. Clarify those decisions before increasing the test budget. This is a sample of the planned learning method, not a student result or guarantee.
Shared skills. Different outcomes.
Build a clearer customer journey, choose channels with purpose, connect attention to follow-up, understand the numbers, and make better decisions about DIY, delegation, hiring, and outsourcing.
Join the owner founding listFor freelancers and early agency owners with some experience: strengthen the niche, offer, client acquisition, onboarding, delivery, reporting, retention, and systems behind responsible client work.

Founder-led at the start
Tyler Lackey is the founder of Marketing Schoolhouse and Key City Digital. He is building the first curriculum from operating experience, then plans to refine it with the questions, work, and feedback of founding students. The long-term goal is durable curriculum with multiple instructors and more than one point of view.
